Geography developed

I haven't finished deciding on the theme of geography yet, however the below illustrations are for the topic of countries. The world works really well with the collage and the vibrant colours make it more interesting and playful, which i what i want to keep the book covers, i want them to have a sense of its fun to learn not boring dull revision.

The image of the UK doesn't work as well as the world, i think this is probably due to the fact the colours aren't as vibrant and bright so i will look at changing this, but also look at other ways of illustrating this subject, as its a bit of a one trip pony and could turn very dry!

You can see here how this now works, the vibrant colours and texture really bring it to life and i feel it looks really interesting. This works much more successfully for a child than a blocked colour flag. The textures and odd shapes is much more 'at home' to a child that the general representation of a flag. The textured colours also give a sense of movement which is really nice.
